Big Fish and Begonia Posters

A pair of poster studies translating the film's aquatic imagery into simplified shapes, saturated color, and two contrasting compositions.

Role
Poster design and illustration
Constraints
Create two related compositions from one restrained color and shape language
Outcome
Two complementary posters built around the scale and movement of the film's red fish
Big Fish and Begonia poster dominated by a large red fish and pale blossoms
Poster variation featuring a monumental red fish, floating blossoms, and a turquoise field
Big Fish and Begonia poster with a red fish tail curving around vertical Chinese text
Poster variation built around a sweeping red tail and vertically stacked Chinese title

About the project

The two posters use a shared palette and simplified illustration system. One composition emphasizes the fish’s monumental scale; the other turns its tail into a vertical movement around the title.
